John is my go-to home inspector. He's incredibly thorough, takes time with his clients, and has always been patient in answering my relentless questions. Not only is he professional, but he also happens to be a really genuine person. Can't recommend him enough.

John completed a home inspection for me and went above and beyond. He was on time, professional, educated me in many areas as we went through the home so I could feel confident, and the report was well laid out. I'd recommend John over & over.

The inspector followed covid protocol at all times. He answered all the questions we had and he didn't rush through the inspection. It was worth every penny.

John, of Welcome Home Inspection Services was a pleasure to deal with. We required a home inspection in a timely manner and the first positive was John's accommodation. I was present for the inspection and probably more intrusive than I thought but John was able to show and tell me the Good, the Bad and luckily no Ugly of the home. He provided in person detail and observations of the home that I never would have seen. The final report provided by John had excellent detail will be used by me as a step by step guide to make the house that was inspected our home regards, Fabien

John was amazing right from the get-go. He was able to fit me in twice (I booked him, changed my mind, then changed my mind back!) and was friendly and professional the whole time. He was very thorough, looking at everything (even in the cobwebbed, dark basement!) and photographing everything that was an issue and the documentation I received was beyond what I was expecting! John took the time to listen to my concerns and was able to answer all my questions as we went along and put my mind to rest on a few things I was worried about. The extra links that were provided in the report are so helpful (now and in the future), including the checklists and the the ballpark costs of doing repairs. I now have the confidence in ensuring my offer on the home is educated with sound advice given to me by John. Thank you for all your hard work!

Why do I need a home inspection?

Before buying a home, it is important to identify problems that may exist and repairs that will have to be made. This enables you to plan financially and helps avoid expensive surprises. At the very least an inspection provides peace of mind in knowing that your new home is safe and sound and the largest investment of your life is a sensible one, based on being well informed.

Do I really need to be present at the time of the inspection?

We strongly encourage you to attend. By following the home inspector, you can ask questions and get a firsthand look at things you may not have thought were important. The inspection is a learning opportunity about your new home; it allows the inspector to show you what to do in case of an emergency regarding electrical, plumbing and furnace. A good inspector will encourage questions and take the time to explain things.

What if the report reveals problems?

If we find problems in a building, it does not necessarily mean you should not buy it, only that you will know in advance what type of repairs to anticipate. Also, a seller may be willing to make repairs, or lower the selling price. If your budget is tight or if you do not wish to become involved in future repair work, you may decide that this is not the property for you. The choice is yours.

How long does it take?

A typical inspection should take 2 ½ to 3 hours to complete. This can vary according to the current condition of the home, size, accessibility of mechanical systems and so on.

What if I have questions after the inspection?

You can call us anytime to discuss your home. Our service is a long-term investment and we will be happy to discuss all aspects of your home for as long as you own your home.
